The butchery is part of a store upgrade. A more energy-efficient rack system and display cabinet have been added. New air-conditioning has been installed using air socks to deliver the cooled air.

The doubling of the chilled cabinet space and a 30% increase in trading area have resulted in an increase in power consumption. The improved efficiency of the new equipment, however, means that a similar expansion of the old equipment would have consumed considerably more energy. The new air socks create fewer drafts, making for more pleasant working conditions.
